舞蹈作为一种艺术形态,它是以人的形体为媒介,通过表情、姿态和形体动作的力度,幅度与角度等的规律性变化,以表现人类主体的内在审美情感。将舞蹈与雕塑、戏剧,音乐等艺术形态进行对比研究,也许更有助于把握舞蹈艺术的审美特征。
一 舞蹈与雕塑
舞蹈和雕塑具有某种内在的联系,它们虽作为相对独立的两种艺术形态,但在某种意义上或许可以说,舞蹈是活动的雕塑,雕塑是舞蹈的“亮象”。

闻一多先生曾在《说舞》一文中描绘了一场具有原始性质的澳洲的科罗波利舞。从那极富节奏和极度热狂、朴实粗犷的原始舞蹈中,我们看到了生命机能的直接表演,看到了舞蹈的真面目。它不仅是“生命情调最直接、最实质、最强烈、最尖锐、最单纯而 又最充足的表现”,也是“一切艺术中最大综合性的艺术”[1](p317)。原始人的所有 其他艺术——音乐、诗歌、雕塑、绘画等——都在这简单而奇妙的舞蹈中获得了意义。 于是,生命的实在丰富了,艺术的世界诞生了。
